What a year it has been in the UFC. With some of the best events we have seen in years, the UFC is outgrowing every sport
in the Country.
The underdogs are starting to rise starting with 43 year old Randy Couture who completely dominated 32 year old
Tim Sylvia in five minute, five round standout fight. Within ten seconds of the first round Randy knocked tim to the canvas,
although Tim got his composer back Randy was able not only beat him but beat him in a standup bout (might I add that Tim has
a 12 inch reach over Randy) that no one has been able to do.
Randy retired Feb. 2006 after his loss to lightheavy weight champion Chuck Liddell. Only Months after did Randy realized
that he still had the fuel in the tanks to be fighting. So by Feb. 2007 Dana White (the president of the UFC) called him up
and asked him if he wanted to fight Tim Sylvia for the Heavyweight Championship. Without even given it a thought, Randy being
the guy that he is said yes. Most of the fans hearts were with Randy but thought Tim Sylvia would walk away with the win,
after all he does weigh 50 pounds more than Randy. The odds were against Randy, but he shocked the world again as he did so
many other times. The 43 year old Hall of Famer has a 4 fight contract.

Matt Serra
Matt Serra came into the octagon saturday night April 26 knowing he was going to shock the world of MMA and he did. Matt
gave former welterweight champion George St. Peirre a first round knockout. Many thought it was supposed to go the other way.
In realtiy Matt was the only one that believed he could do it. He will be taking on former champ Matt Hughes in the near future
